Tree Orders Leave Paddock Looking Bare
2020 was an unusual season as 75% of our sales were from orders for pickup and delivery. They just kept coming and on Sat 5 Dec we had to stop all orders, and tree sales at the yard, because there were only enough trees in the paddock to meet the existing orders.
Christmas Trees take 4-5 years to grow, so it's almost impossible to get extra trees when there is strong demand. Next year's trees were planted in 2016 when we didn't live in such crazy times. The demand is difficult to predict, but it's the same, there are only so many trees in the ground. Apart from Covid-19 we live in a Click & Collect world, where online shopping, booking holidays, ordering a pizza and now ordering a Christmas Tree is done on a mobile phone, anytime, anywhere.
But that's next year ... this year we wish you the very best Merry Christmas, hope you get to spend some time with your family. Our son arrives from Melbourne tonight, we haven't seen him since last Christmas so it's affected a lot of us this year. Have a Great Christmas, stay safe and look after each other.
Cheers, Steve
