Potted Christmas Trees
Every Christmas we get asked about buying Christmas trees in pots. We don't sell trees in pots but wanted to let everyone know that the best time to buy them is during the year, not at Christmas, and the best place to buy them is from a nursery.
Tip 1 - If you ask for a Christmas tree, they'll say they don't sell them. A Christmas tree is a pine tree that has been trimmed. In Australia we use radiata pine trees, however, there lots of pine varieties that are suitable for Christmas trees and be kept in a pot. You could try a Monterey Pine, White Spruce, Blue Star or Norway Spruce. Here's a couple more we found at Bunnings nursery

Tip 2 - they have to be trimmed to shape. We trim ours 4-5 times a year, you know the shape, and the more you trim the bushier it will be. A Christmas tree takes about 4 years to grow to a reasonable size.
So don't wait until Christmas, when they are hard to find and top$. Start shopping now, keep it trimmed and you'll have a beautiful Christmas tree all year round.
